He's of the colour of the nutmeg. And of the heat of the ginger.... he is pure air and fire; and the dull elements of earth and water never appear in him, but only in patient stillness while his rider mounts him; he is indeed a horse, and all other jades you may call beasts. ~William Shakespeare, Henry V

MY INCISION REOPENED AGAIN

This really sucks!

The problem area of my cesarean section has opened up AGAIN. I was getting in to the shower and I looked down and saw blood. I checked myself out in the mirror, and sure enough, it was coming from the spot that keeps opening.

The last few days it started to get dark and puffy so I knew it was going to happen. I had the doctor take a look at the area when I took Jessie in yesterday for her six month check-up. I told him this goes on every month, this the sixth time it has happened, and each time they give me antibiotics for it but is still reopens. I have even tried putting a topical ointment on the area and then padding it with gauze but that does work either. Right now I just use band-aids and replace the band-aid about every two hours. I told the doc I am done with antibiotics because obviously they are not working. I want this problem fixed NOW!

The doc though that a piece, or a knot, from one of the stitches is still embedded in under the skin just low enough so that it won't push through and that's why the area keeps getting irritated. He thinks that the OB/GYN who performed the surgery needs to check it out. They may have to reopen the area, take out the thing that's still in there, and then close it again.

The OB/GYN who performed my section is going to be in Devils Lake on the 14, 15, and 16. The only day he is seeing patients is on the 14th so they are going to see if they can get me in to see him. I am supposed to call the clinic on Wednesday to check with the nurse.

I could have slapped the nurse that was checking on the OB/GYN's schedule. I guess he's really booked solid and the nurse said, "is this an emergency, or that important?" Well lady lets see, the surgery was performed six months ago and I am still having complications...what do you think? The last thing I need is for it to get infected then I would have a bigger problem.

So we will see what I find out tomorrow.
