A PHONE CALL FROM WAL-MART
Two years ago, Darren gave me a glide rocker with an ottoman for Christmas after Cassidy was born. After several months of constant use the chair started to squeak outrageously loud. After a few weeks the squeaking turned into a grinding sound and we noticed that the chair was leaving metal shavings and grease marks on our brand new carpet in the nursery.
I contacted Wal-Mart to let them know about the chair. They gladly exchanged it for another chair since they were still in stock and they contacted the manufacturer of chair to have them take care of the marks on our carpet; however, we never did hear back from the Victory Land Company about it.
Well just a few weeks ago the replacement chair started to do the same darn thing. I wrote an email to the corporate office letting them know that the same thing was happening with the replacement chair. Since this was the second chair to do the same thing after about the same amount of time and use, I told them that I would rather just not have the chair from the Victory Land Company but there was another glide rocker on their website that was pretty close to the same price that I would rather have.
It took a few days, but the representative that heads all the Wal-Mart stores in ND called me about the chair and he told me to return the chair I currently have to the Devils Lake Wal-Mart and when I bring it in they are going to give me a gift card so that I can order the chair that's online and have it sent right to my home. They are even going to pay for the shipping.
The representative also stated that he was very disappointed that the manufacturer of the chair never contacted me about the carpet and he was going to contact the company himself to find out why and he is going to have the manufacturer do something about the carpet too.
I think it's really cool that they are doing all of this for me. To think that I was not going to contact them because I thought they were going to fight me and nothing would be accomplished. Yah for Wal-Mart!
