He's of the colour of the nutmeg. And of the heat of the ginger.... he is pure air and fire; and the dull elements of earth and water never appear in him, but only in patient stillness while his rider mounts him; he is indeed a horse, and all other jades you may call beasts. ~William Shakespeare, Henry V

Washin' Cloths

Well, I am getting ready to head over to my mom's house and wash cloths. This is a Sunday ritual that I do every week because the well water is so crappy out here that I can't wash a load of white cloths without the cloths turning orange because of the rust. We don't drink the water either, we just wash dishes and take showers and that's about it. In September right before I had Cassidy Holbecks came out here to clean the well and while they were cleaning it, the well collapsed and we didn't have water for the rest of the day. Holbecks came back out the next morning and they were here until 5 in the evening and fortunately they got our water running, However, Les Johnson said that we only had about 2 more years on the well and we won't be able to use it at all. We have rural water coming and Darren and I are on the list. We were supposed to get it last fall but there were still some fields that had crop yet and the farmers didn't want them digging the trenches until there fields were harvested because they wouldn't be compensated for lost crop. Hopefully by mid-summer or fall of this year we will have our water and I won't have to drag our dirty laundry around to get it washed.
