He's of the colour of the nutmeg. And of the heat of the ginger.... he is pure air and fire; and the dull elements of earth and water never appear in him, but only in patient stillness while his rider mounts him; he is indeed a horse, and all other jades you may call beasts. ~William Shakespeare, Henry V

HAIRCUTS AND HALLOWEEN!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!

The girls and I had a pretty good Halloween holiday. To start the day off, we went to Devils Lake and the girls had haircut appointments with my friend Tawny at Performance in Hair. The girls were not happy about going, but calmed down during the car ride there. Cassidy had her haircut first. She let us cut it super short so it doesn't take 20 minutes to comb out anymore. Jessie went next and asked for a haircut just like Nana's. The girls behaved very well, and they look super cute with their new haircuts.

At 3:30, we went over to the Leeds Community Center for a Halloween party before trick-or-treating. I must say, compared to all the years before, this party was actually pretty dull. There was only 3 different games to play, there was one craft table, a spot set up for pictures to be taken, all the games ran out of prizes before my girls got to play them, and the party only lasted for one hour. Oh well, they thought it was fun anyway.

My mom drove the girls and I around at 5 o'clock for trick-or-treating. The girls did very well, and Jessie only took one break. Jessie sat in the Jeep with Nana while Cassidy and I went to the doors to collect candy. After about a half hour, she was ready to go some more. There was one house in Leeds that Jessie didn't like. The house belongs to the Himle's and they decorate it really nicely every year. The husband likes to dress up, sit outside, and scare all the kids when they come up to the door. It's pretty funny to watch. The girls and I got up to the door and they got their candy. When they turned around to leave, two of the "decorations" on the deck started to move. It spooked Cassie, but she just ran off the porch quickly. Jessie on the other hand was so scared that she wouldn't move. She even refused to turn around and step down the porch because one of them tried to pick her up. I had to lift her to get her off the deck. When we walked away, Jessie told me "I'm not going to Himle's anymore. It's scary, and that guy tried to pick me up." I just smiled and tried not to laugh.
