HELLO TO AN OLD FRIEND
Last week we camped out at my mom's house. The water line coming up to the toilet in the bathroom was leaking so I turned off the water since I didn't know if it was water from the tank, under the toilet, or from the line itself. My dad couldn't get to my place right away because he was out of town for a few days and when he came home he had a few business things to take care of. It didn't bother us though because it was hot and they have central air and we don't. My mom took our stay well but my dad was happy to see us go when we did and I honestly don't think he cares to see us any time too soon.
Today while the girls were taking their naps I took a bold move and called my best friend. Nope, it wasn't Rainy. His name is Cole and I met him way back in the day (about '95 or '96) when my brother and father were driving stock cars at the Grand Forks speedway. Cole and his father used to pit right next to us. Cole and I became very good friends and I couldn't wait for every Friday after school when our dad would pick us up so we could head straight to Grand Forks in time for racing. It was a blast and I really miss it. The last time I saw Cole was about two weeks after Darren and I were married and after Tanya's death and feeling so bad since I let so many years go between us without speaking I got my nerve up and called Cole's father to get Cole's phone number. There was so much I wanted to tell him but didn't have the time because he had to get to work but we are hoping that we can arrange things so that next week he can come down to visit for the day. I can't wait......and yes, I did tell Darren about it and he's fine with it. Darren has female friends that he hangs out with.
Before we left for home my dad got some really good pictures of Jessie and in one you can actually see her dimple.
Well it's late and I have to get to bed if I want to get any sleep tonight. Later Ya'll.
