GRAIN TRUCK STILL STUCK AND A DUMB MOMENT
The grain truck is still stuck outside my house. An hour ago, a tractor toting an auger showed up along with a semi tractor-trailer and they used the auger to move the grain from the grain truck into the semi trailer. The semi is now parked right in front of my house and they are in the process of getting the grain truck out of the ditch. I feel bad for the driver of the grain truck because I think I know who it belongs to and everyone will be talking about it soon if not already. The down side about a small down is that you can't even take a crap in your own house without someone knowing about it the moment it happends. I guess I am not much better since I am telling all of you what is going on.
But things like that happen to everyone. Yesterday I made myself feel really stupid. I took Cassie down to Bob's barn to see his dog and horses before we went over to my mom's and I left my keys in the ignition of my car. When were in the barn for about an hour and when we got back to the car, it wouldn't start. I thought it might have been the battery so Cassie and I walked to Cenex, which is just right across the street...thank God...and I asked one of the mechanics if they could try boosting the car. The mechanic walked over with a battery charger and after he left, I forgot I had the keys in my pocket so I gave them to someone else who ran them across the street. When the secretary of Cenex was talking to me, she asked what was wrong and I told her the engine didn't turn over but all the lights, radio, wipers, and everything else would turn on. That caught the attention of yet another mechanic and he asked me what year our car was and I told him it was an '02. He said that it was probably the security system and not the battery so he ran across the street and joined the other two guys that were already over there and in no time, they came across the street with the car...yup, it was the security. I didn't even know how the security turned itself on. I apologized to the first guy that went over with the battery charger but they would have had to help me anyway because I didn't know how to turn it off. Cenex here in town is like Gossip Central so I am sure the whole town knows what happened.
