He's of the colour of the nutmeg. And of the heat of the ginger.... he is pure air and fire; and the dull elements of earth and water never appear in him, but only in patient stillness while his rider mounts him; he is indeed a horse, and all other jades you may call beasts. ~William Shakespeare, Henry V

GETTING BETTER

Cassidy didn't sleep well last night. I let her lay on the couch for a while before putting her in her bed. She would wake up about every hour - hour and a half crying because of stomach cramping. She threw up a few times before bed. Luckily she didn't throw up during the night. Around 5 a.m. she joined me in our bed. She still didn't sleep any better but she seemed to be more comfortable and would pass in and out of sleep until the next cramp came along.

Today, she did better. She only threw up about three times, but those darn cramps bothered her all day. She didn't have much of an appetite and only drank a couple cups of water and juice. She didn't have a problem at all going to bed and she has been quite since she fell asleep.

I hope tomorrow she is all better. There is nothing worse in the world than knowing that your child is in pain and there isn't a damn thing you can do about it. It's really hard to sit with her and make her comfortable until the sickness goes away on it's own. I wish there was some miracle cure for those moments.

My mom has a doctor appointment in Minot tomorrow. She may have to have surgery before the first of the year. I hope the doctor appointment goes well, mom.
