He's of the colour of the nutmeg. And of the heat of the ginger.... he is pure air and fire; and the dull elements of earth and water never appear in him, but only in patient stillness while his rider mounts him; he is indeed a horse, and all other jades you may call beasts. ~William Shakespeare, Henry V

WAY TOO BUYS TODAY

When my mother was driving to work Friday morning, she got about half way to town and suddenly the vehicle filled with a strong, hot gas smell. When she checked her gas gauge she could see it dropping and the car started to chug a little bit.

Mom drove faster to make it to town. The car stalled once at a stop light once she got to town but it started again and she was able to make it to the hospital parking lot just in time. As she was pulling in, the gas tank went empty and she coasted into a parking spot. She got out and checked under the car. Gas was leaking from the right front tire of the car.

At 9:30 in the morning mom called, told me what happened, and if I could pick her up from work. It wasn't a problem because my only plans were to take Cassie to the swimming pool this afternoon so after Cassie swam for about a half hour to forty five minutes we left for Devils Lake to pick up mom.

After we picked up mom we went to get Cassie a new swimming suit. The adorable Dora the Explorer suit that grandma Hanson and aunt Missy gave her is starting to fit a little snug. Cassie really liked this one suit but we could only find it in a size 6 extra small. There was another Dora swim suit that looked cute and we were able to find it in a size 4/5 so we bought them both to see what would work. Turned out both suits are too big so we will have to take them back and get a 3/4.

I was shocked as we walked through the parking lot. Our friend Jason, Butto to most of us, was a cart jockey for the store. Well, not really a true cart jockey. He works Customer Service and just happened to be out collecting carts. He said that he had only started the job two days ago but doesn't plan on sticking around long. I his plan in the very near future is to join everyone in Grand Forks.

We got home and I put Cassie into her snug swimming suit and took her back up to the pool for about a hour and a half. I was checking the prices of the pool; $1 for kiddie pool, $2 for the big pool, $40 for all-summer pass, and $80 for a family pass. Since the kiddie pool is half the price of the big pool, I asked if I could get a all-summer pass for the kiddie pool for $20. They said that was fine so now Cassie doesn't have to worry about taking a dollar with her every time she goes to the pool this summer. I have a feeling that we are going to be using that pool a lot the next couple of weeks.

Cassie got done swimming around 8:30 and I remembered that I needed to hit Leevers grocery store in Rugby to buy some more vegetables for Jessie. So mom, the girls, and I all took a road trip and while we were in Rugby we stopped at Darren's aunts house and got copies of the Mouse River Journal because there is a picture of Darren, Cassie, and Darren's mother in the paper. She must have given me 15 copies!!!

It was a late night getting in. We are staying at my moms house tonight because our house just got way too hot today. Both girls fell asleep around 11:30 which is really late past their normal bedtime so they better sleep in tomorrow.
