He's of the colour of the nutmeg. And of the heat of the ginger.... he is pure air and fire; and the dull elements of earth and water never appear in him, but only in patient stillness while his rider mounts him; he is indeed a horse, and all other jades you may call beasts. ~William Shakespeare, Henry V

SWIMMING

Today I took Cassie and Jessie up to the Leeds Public Swimming pool. Cassie's Early Head Start instructor was treating all the kids to an afternoon of swimming, snacks, and book reading. I must admit that it was a lot of fun.

We went to the pool at 4 o'clock and swam for an hour. Cassie totally LOVED it!! There were other families there from the area that were also in the Early Head Start program that we were able to meet and Cassie had a ball playing with all the other children and jumping in and out of the water. I even got to swim a little bit with Cassie too!

Afterwards we sat under some shady trees in front of the pool building and had gogurts and apple juice. For any of you out there that have had the gogurts yet, the berry burst ones are really yummy. Then after our snack the Early Head Start instructor read a book to the children and then the kids got to read books after she was done.

I was really impressed. I went there expecting it to be really lame and the only fun part would be swimming but I really enjoyed the whole thing and Cassie and I had fun together and we were even able to have little Jessie with us. In fact, we had so much fun up there I just may have to take Cassie up to the public swimming pool more often since admission into the kiddy pool is only $1.
